Program Partners and 44 Blue Productions to Launch Family Court with Judge Penny
New Series to Bring Inspired Voice to Daytime Court in Fall 2008
LOS ANGELES, CA — November 5, 2007 — Program Partners and 44 Blue Productions today announced the launch of Family Court with Judge Penny, a half-hour first-run series that will bring a provocative, emotional and inspiring new perspective to the hugely popular court show genre. Available for national syndication in fall 2008, the series stars Judge Penny Brown Reynolds, a distinguished judge whose own personal triumph over adversity informs an authentic new voice for daytime television.
Family Court with Judge Penny will focus on the emotional, personal matters that are the foundation of Judge Penny’s court experience, including disputes between couples, reckless parenting, and custody battles. Judge Penny’s own inspirational rise from an underprivileged single parent home to becoming a nationally recognized lawyer and judge make her uniquely qualified to head the Family Court series.
“Court drama continues to be a highly rated cornerstone of syndicated television,” said Program Partners’ Principal, Josh Raphaelson. “Family Court with Judge Penny will bring compelling new stories and a powerful new talent to the genre.”
“In all my years of developing daytime programming, Judge Penny is the most natural, engaging, and powerful court talent I have seen,” said 44 Blue Productions’ Executive Producer, Stephanie Drachkovitch. “She has what it takes to make an immediate, lasting, and positive connection with daytime viewers.”
Drachkovitch has held senior development and programming positions with Warner Bros. and Buena Vista Television.
